The world’s largest mascot race, the Mascot Gold Cup, will take place at Wetherby Racecourse in West Yorkshire.  The event will take place as part of their Family Day on Sunday 23rd April.

This is the 12th annual running of the Mascot Gold Cup, which in 2015 set the Guinness World Record for the most Mascots in a race.

Mascot Grand National at Kempton Park Racecourse The event begins with a Mascot Parade at 1pm, where punters can place their bets on their favourites, then there is a one minute mascot warm-up before the race itself at 2.15pm.

Mascots try to run the 220 yard course, negotiating six small fences along the way, before entering the final furlong in front of the cheering grandstands.

There will be prizes for the mascots on the day, including one for the ‘Best Turned-Out Mascot’.  The event aims to raise money for Sue Ryder.
