What is it?
Take a trip to the past this weekend as York’s Festival of Vintage takes place, celebrating all things vintage from the 1930s to the 1960s.
The weekend will have vintage music, dance, fashion, vehicles, and workshops. Visitors will be able to browse stalls, attend workshops, and take dance lessons.
There will be DJs playing music from the 1930s to the 1960s, with plenty of room for visitors to dance along to their favourite songs. Guests can also brush up on their dance skills and try lessons in Swing, Jive and Lindy Hop.
An array of vintage vehicles will be on display, including scooters, cars and caravans.
Make do and mend workshops will give people to opportunity to try some vintage crafts, and fashion parades will show the changes in style over the decades. A vintage hair and beauty parlour will allow visitors to have a makeover done in the style of their favourite era.
Visitors are encouraged to attend the festival in vintage attire.
