What is it?
Countryside Lincs is a family event, set to return to the Lincolnshire Showground on Sunday 9th April, with hands-on learning experiences about food, crafts, farming and the importance of the countryside.
The aim of the event is to encourage children to embrace the countryside, and families of all ages will be able to interact with farmyard animals big and small, try their hands at a variety of crafts, and bake tasty foods. They will also be able to meet Lincolnshire producers and farmers who will demonstrate different farming methods and the origins of our favourite foods.
This year there will be seven different zones to explore, all with different things to see, and make and do, plus there will be entertainment in the Countryside Ring. The tractor and trailer rides around the showground, and the Easter hunt will return for this year’s event, and new for this year, there will be interactive storytelling from the Rhubarb Theatre.
The event will have a variety of indoor and outdoor activities for youngsters to make, bake and explore, making it the perfect all-weather family day out. The farming, craft and food activities this year will include the Dog and Sheep Show, The Sheep Roadshow, a pedal tractor obstacle course, sausage making, wool spinning, seed planting, and fishing.
