What is it?
The 2017 World Pasty Championships will take place at the Eden Project in Cornwall on Saturday 4th March. Competitors are expected from all over the world.
Categories in this year’s World Pasty Championships will include professional, company, amateur and junior, for both traditional Cornish and non-Cornish pasties. New for this year will be a gluten-free category.
In addition to the pasty making there will be a Crimp Off competition, with various performers battling to see who is the fastest crimper in the west.
The day isn’t just about pasties, it celebrates all things Cornish with live music, comedy and activities. The music line-up will include Genevieve Miles, The Woods, Flats and Sharps, Kathryn Williams, and Fisherman’s Friends.
The day will end at 5pm with the Oggy Oscars award ceremony.
