What is it?
On Saturday 10th and Sunday 11th December, visitors to Windsor Castle can enjoy a pop-up pantomime performance at Windsor Castle.
At select times during the day, special pop-up pantomimes will be performed in the magnificent setting of the Waterloo Chamber.
Following the sell-out run of A Midsummer Night’s Dream at Windsor Castle this summer, Watch Your Head return with a magical performance of Hans Christian Anderson’s ever-popular fairy-tale, Cinderella. Taking inspiration from the pantomimes performed by the Princesses Elizabeth and Margaret at the castle during the war, the 30-minute performances will include colourful costumes and live music.
Over the weekend, families can also join a storyteller by the fireside in St George’s Hall to listen to tales of glorious feasts, horse-drawn sleigh rides and the first Christmas trees at the castle. The State Apartments will be also be filled with the sound of Christmas carols performed by local community groups.
Visitors can take part in craft activities in the castle’s State Entrance and make their own Christmas decorations, or watch demonstrations of festive sugar work in the Grand Reception Room to get inspiration for some Christmas cake decorating.
Watch Your Head is an exciting and unique theatrical production company. Their aim is to create exquisite theatrical experiences in intriguing locations.
