A pop up Christmas market with a difference

By Caroline King - November 19, 2016Posted in : Classes & Workshops, Fair, Food & Drink

East Village Christmas Makers Market 2016 When: 26th November – 11th December 2016

Where: 6-9 West Park Walk, East Village, London E20 1DH (Next to Bottle Apostle)

£: Free admission

What is it?

Head over to East Village this festive season, for a pop-up shopping experience with a difference, as the neighbourhood hosts a ‘Hygge’ themed Christmas Makers Market.

Hygge – the Danish art of living cosily – is all about savouring simple pleasures, nurturing and enjoying good times with great people, an ethos with considerable prominence in East Village. Visitors can expect all forms of cosiness and conviviality at the market, combining ambient interiors, entertainment, comfort food, and stylish gifts.

A selection of London artisans have been invited to showcase their products at the Christmas Makers Market, combining some of the best new brands and crafts that the capital has to offer. The shopping space will have a selection of hand-crafted goods and unique Christmas gifts.

With a different line-up of retailers over each of the three weekends, Christmas shoppers will have the chance to buy Scandinavian homeware from Att Pynta, sustainable Scandi-inspired plywood christmas trees by Kreisdesign, cosy embroidered slippers from Olive Loves Alfie, or a range of Danish ceramics from SkandiHus.

A selection of Allpress coffee will be provided by We Are Here Coffee.  In addition there will be a range of carefully crafted Christmas gifts on offer by Aerende, BLÄSTA HENRIËT, BRIGGS + SHEARS, Christabel Balfour, Evermore, Inger Studio, Juniper Weaves, Line Dot Studio, Melina Xenaki, MR Studio London, One we made earlier, Ren.London, and Worm London.

Visitors can try their hand at making their own personalised Christmas gifts and decorations, as Geo-fleur will be hosting alternative Christmas wreath workshops, and Slow Split will demonstrate how to craft a butter knife from reclaimed wood.
