Mozart’s Classical Smackdown at The Book Club

By Caroline King - October 2, 2016Posted in : Food & Drink, Music

The Book Club basement - London

The Book Club in London

When: 5th October 2016, 7pm – 11pm

Where: The Book Club, 100 Leonard Street, London EC2A 4RH

£: Tickets cost £10.75

What is it?

On Wednesday 5th October, London’s first ever classical music open mic night, featuring ‘battles’ between talented musicians, will take place at The Book Club.

Have you ever settled down to watch Eminem’s film 8 Mile and thought, this rap battle lacks classical music?  Then you’re half way there.  Mozart’s Classical Smackdown, hosted by the ‘Ghost of Mozart’, will see musicians being invited to perform a five-minute set.  Performances will be based on themes such as ardour, despair, joy, and loathing.

The winners of each round will be offered a bottle of wine and a bow from the Ghost himself.  Expect battles, booze, and even a rogue bassoon at this inaugural ‘Mozart in the Urban Jungle’ event.
