What is it?
Visitors to The Alnwick Garden in Northumberland this Halloween can experience a garden with a difference. From Tuesday 25th to Monday 31st October, those who are brave enough, can enter The Dark Garden.
This new fright night production will be challenging people during the evenings, to see if they’re brave enough to take a walk along the Path of Fear into the Dark Garden.
The event promises some spine-chilling interactive theatre and terrifying trickery, with a bit of visual puppetry thrown in. Visitors take a trip through the Poison Garden, into the dark woods, along lonely pathways, by black bubbling ponds and into the hidden corners of the garden.
The Dark Garden will open during the evenings between 6.15pm and 9.30pm. The event is produced by Enchanted Places, the outdoor production company which brought the popular illuminated production A Christmas Tale to The Alnwick Garden last December.
The Alnwick Garden is a registered charity that places people at its heart, whether they be individuals or part of a community. As well as standing for contemporary gardening excellence, the garden stimulates change through play, learning, the arts, healthy activity, addressing disability and the economic renaissance of a rural community.
The Alnwick Garden Trust, which manages and delivers the garden’s community projects, is dedicated to providing an exciting and varied programme that benefits people of all ages and backgrounds. The projects aim to engage with people in an authentic way, and the Trust listens carefully to participants’ needs and interests, allowing them to shape and grow the programmes.
