What is it?

A group of international artists will come together this October for a unique theatre performance in one of Liverpool’s brightest new venues.

Teatro Pomodoro will present Cabaret From The Shadows, an evening of clowning, bouffon and dark comedy on Thursday 13th and Friday 14th at The Invisible Wind Factory.

With recent successful performances at Physical Fest and Threshold Festival, and past acclaimed shows at Edinburgh and Camden Fringe, Cabaret From The Shadows is a creation from Liverpool-based theatre company Teatro Pomodoro.

Teatro Pomodoro is an ensemble of international artists from Canada, Japan, Spain, Italy and Liverpool.  They all met at the famous École Philippe Gaulier, a prestigious French clown school in Étampes, just outside of Paris.

Enjoy an evening of mischief and merriment

The production takes the form of a cabaret show, featuring live music, clowning, burlesque, physical theatre and dark comedy.

In a small community, not too far from Liverpool’s City Centre; existing amongst the shadows, there lives a group of social rejects sent away from our cities and our societies to live hidden from us.  These creatures live outside our social constructs, on the edge of all things decent and nice.  They’ve been cruelly chased away from the cities and towns they used to call home.

Once in a while – when the moon is full and wine flows – we allow these freaks back into the fold to entertain us… without realising, of course, that we laugh at our own, filthy reflections.  On 13th and 14th October, the gates of Liverpool will be open to this group of misfits, and they will welcome you with big toothy grins.

These creatures are gifted with dark talents and uncomfortable truths to tell; gifts that have been nurtured from time spent on the edge of all things decent, good and moral.
