Where: Shaldon, near Teignmouth, Devon

£: Free

What is it?
Shaldon Water Carnival offers an alternative family day out with a myriad of activities on the beach, including a decorated boat parade, fancy dress, a crab collecting competition, and a sand sculpture competition.

Clovelly Lifeboat Day

When: 7th August 2016

Where: The harbour, Clovelly, Devon

£: Admission to the village costs £7 for adults and £4.40 for children

What is it?
Clovelly Lifeboat Day sees displays of the lifeboat, as well as entertainment, music, food and drink, and games for all the family; all in aid of RNLI.

Minehead Harbour Fest

Minehead Harbour Fest

When: 13th & 14th August 2016

Where: Minehead, Somerset

£: Free

What is it?
The Minehead Harbour Fest will feature kayak races, raft races, music and storytelling. The kayak races take place on the Saturday and the raft races on the Sunday. The event finishes with a firework display.

When: 17th August 2016

Where: Viking Bay, Victoria Gardens and Promenade, Broadstairs, Kent

£: Free

What is it?
This year’s Water Gala will have a teddy bears picnic, Punch and Judy, sandcastle competitions, the best decorated beach hut, morris men, sea shanties, and costumed characters.

Blyth Tall Ships Regatta

When: 26th – 29th August 2016

Where: Blyth Quayside, Northumberland

£: Free

What is it?
Blyth Tall Ships Regatta will take place over the bank holiday weekend with a fleet of more than 30 tall ships, street theatre, live music, and circus acts. The event will end with a tall ships race from the Northumberland coast to Gothenburg.

Ironbridge Coracle Regatta, Dale End Park, August bank holiday

Ironbridge Coracle Regatta

When: 29th August 2016

Where: Ironbridge Rowing Club, Ironbridge

£: Free

What is it?
The Coracle Regatta is a family-friendly event with water polo, and beginners, intermediate, and experienced races. Visitors can simply turn up and have a go in these small keel-less boats.
