What is it?
This is the 13th annual Piping Live! in Glasgow and this year there are over 150 events taking place as part of the festival.
Events include piping competitions, museum tours, whisky tasting, pipe band parades, and a family fun day.
Free events during the Piping Live! week will include pipe band performances, and the Pipe Idol heats.
Why not take a free tour of the Museum of Piping and discover the treasures, music and history of the Great Highland Bagpipe? For those who would like to get more hands on, there are sessions where you can have a go at the pipes yourself at the National Piping Centre and in George Square.
Don’t miss the many pipe band performances and parades.
There is a Family Fun Day on Tuesday 9th August with activities including storytelling, highland dancing, face painting, and nursery rhymes on pipes.
On Saturday 13th August the World Pipe Band Championships take place at Glasgow Green from 8am to 7pm. The competition will feature over 200 performances and 8,000 pipers.
The event will also include highland dancing and family entertainment. Following the championships there will be a concert with the Red Hot Chilli Pipers.
