What is it?
London’s water obstacle course, the Rat Race, will take place on Saturday 13th August. The race will provide an incredible challenge for crazy competitors, as well as raise vital funds for the homeless charity, Shelter.
The 10km water course will see participants run, jump, swim, kayak and climb their way around Docklands in East London.
This year’s course will feature over 35 obstacles, including a 50ft water slide, giant inflatables, and the biggest water jump in any UK race.
Participants should expect to get wet, and have a sense of adventure. The Rat Race begins and ends at the ExCel centre, and all entrants will receive a wristband, t-shirt, headband, and timing chip.
Participants who manage to raise at least £200 for Shelter will get their entry fee refunded.
As growing numbers of people struggle with soaring housing costs, Shelter has seen a rise in demand for help from people fighting to keep a roof over their heads.
The River Rat Race is hoping to raise thousands of pounds to fund Shelter’s work helping people facing bad housing and homelessness.
