What is it?
This weekend the infamous Tough Guy Nettle Warrior run takes place in the West Midlands. The event will see a bunch of brave competitors run a 7k, 15k or 30k course which makes an ordinary obstacle course seem like a walk in the park.
The Nettle Warrior challenges participants to run a course complete with muddy climbing frames, slides, water, rope bridges, and of course nettles. Areas of the course are nicknamed ‘The Killing Fields’ and ‘Elephants Graveyard’, which should give prospective participants a good idea of what to expect. The obstacles are designed to make (or break) a person. This doesn’t seem to put some people off though, as hundreds of competitors come from all over the world to take part in this tough run.
Those who manage to complete the course receive a medal and a t-shirt for their efforts. And perhaps most importantly, a hot shower.
