What is it?
Experience a Victorian knees-up courtesy of Little Bulb Theatre as they present an Extravaganza Macabre at Battersea Arts Centre. It will be the first production made for the outside Courtyard.
A freak storm parts two passionate lovers and sets them on a torturous path of cruel fate and hapless chance. Can a loyal urchin and clairvoyant maid help to reunite the desperate pair? Or will the scheming villain have his wicked way?
Come rain or shine, the new open-air theatre will play host to a string of archetypal baddies and goodies that romp through tales of villainy and valour in Victorian London.
Little Bulb Theatre will treat audiences to a variety of dramatic styles as the action unfurls amongst the onlookers. Members of the audience, standing at ground level or sitting on balcony levels, should expect a raucous afternoon (or evening) out under the sky.
There will be Victorian-style Penny Pies, ginger beer and a selection of London gins on offer. And on Friday and Saturday nights the shows will be followed by a musical knees-up in the bar.
Little Bulb will be appearing at BAC following a sold-out run at the world-renowned Salzburg Festival, and a national tour with their Grand Hall commission Orpheus.
