What is it?
Each month The Cockpit’s favourite nun presents a quality street selection of artists in Sister Mary’s Big Sunday Show, treating audiences to some good old-fashioned entertainment. The next show will be on Sunday 19th June with the Twins Macabre, Richard Gresham and Lucy Fredericks.
The Twins Macabre are a deliciously dark character comedy duo (featured on BBC3’s Live at the Electric and BBC Radio 4’s Sketchorama). Maurice and Ivy Macabre are 10-year-old psychic siblings who have a penchant for finger painting and murder. The pair conjure the souls of the damned through twisted sketches and original comedy songs.
Expect high-energy, fast-paced comedy, intertwined with vaudevillian theatrics and ghoulish music. The twins have performed at the Edinburgh Fringe, Canary Wharf Spiegeltent, Brighton Fringe, London Horror Fest and Vault Festival. The pair also recently appeared in the acclaimed world stage premiere of Richard O’Brien’s Rocky Horror sequel Shock Treatment.
Richard Gresham gives little away about what he does… there may be a song or two.
Lucy Frederick is a stand up comedian, actor and writer based in South East London. She is becoming a regular on the stand-up circuit up and down the country and will be taking her fourth show to Edinburgh this summer.
