Debt Records at The Lowry

What is it?
Debt Records will be taking over The Lowry for a unique and immersive insight into the record-making process. There will also be performances from the label roster and special guests.

Hearth & Home
When: 13th May 2016
Where: Glenesk Folk Museum, The Retreat Tarfside Glenesk, Edzell, Angus DD9 7TA
£: Costs £7 (includes stovies)
What is it?
Visitors can expect a cosy, social evening to celebrate the music that bound communities together in days gone by. There’ll be drinks, hot stovies and live folk music. The children of Tarfside school will also present their ideas of life as a Victorian glen child.

Music at Marley Hill Carriage Shed
When: 14th May 2016, 6.30pm – 11pm

What is it?
Enjoy an evening of local live music in Marley Hill Carriage Shed, at the World’s Oldest Railway. There will be a real ale bar and refreshments.

Ye Olde Tavern Quiz
When: 12th & 13th May 2016, 6.30pm – 10pm
Where: Museum of the Order of St John, St John’s Gate St John’s Lane, London EC1M 4DA
£: Costs £30 per team
What is it?
St John’s Gate was once home to Ye Olde Jerusalem Tavern, a watering hole for the likes of Dickens. In celebration of this history, the museum is holding a traditional pub quiz. The Jerusalem Tavern will be selling beverages and bar snacks from 7pm, and the museum galleries will be open to quizzers beforehand.

Burns Heid Inn
When: 13th May 2016, 7pm – 10.30pm
Where: Robert Burns Birthplace Museum, Murdoch’s Lane, Alloway, Ayr, Ayrshire KA7 4PQ

What is it?
Visitors to Burns Cottage will be able to sample an authentic 19th Century ale house, as the Robert Burns Birthplace Museum will once again be turning back the clock to when the cottage was a pub. For one evening only there will be local beers, entertainment and a pub quiz to enjoy.

The Kings Head pub at The Banqueting House
When: 13th May 2016, 5pm – 10pm
Where: Banqueting House, Whitehall, London SW1A 2ER

What is it?
Travel back in time to experience the atmosphere of a 17th century tavern. Visitors will be able to grab a drink with the bawdy Stuarts in “The Kings Head” pub, in what was once King James I’s drinking den. There will be free raffles held on the night, giving guests the chance to win balcony tours and free tickets for the Lost Palace event.

Tainted Tales

What is it?
Secrets, scandals and dirty debauched weekends, The Sussex Arms has seen it all over the years. Artists Jo Kimber and Alec Stevens have uncovered fascinating stories that are best told after dark. There will also be special tours of the museum’s exhibition for anyone brave enough. Refreshments will be provided by The Sussex Arms.
