What is it?
Jive back to the 1950s on Sunday 8th May at the National Museum of Rural Life in East Kilbride with their Fabulous 50s event. Visitors will be able to enjoy a whole host of vintage entertainment and activities.
In the museum there will be a chance to get a retro hair makeover from the Pin-Up Ladies’ Hair Salon, have a classic photo taken in the special booth, and find out how you can have the perfect 1950’s life. There will also be stalls with vintage gifts including homeware, clothes and jewellery.
In the Vintage Tea and Cake Marquee there will be 1950s music from Sarah Laing, dancers to help you with your jive skills, and tea and cake of course!
For families there will be plenty of 1950s style entertainment on the farm to enjoy, including hula hooping, traditional games, and craft activities.
The National Museum of Rural Life is a museum and historic working farm. The attraction gives visitors an insight into how farming life has changed over 300 years, and a sense of what life was like on a farm during the 1950s.
