ride2stride - Settle-Carlisle Walking Festival The walks begin and end at one of the stations, so participants can simply turn up at the time of the event.  The festival’s walks range from easy and leisurely, to strenuous, full day-long walks, so there is something for everyone.

This year’s festival will begin on 26th April with walks including Caves and Crags, and Woods and Water with Yorkshire Dales Society Chairman Mark Corner, and a talk on the Old Inns of the Yorkshire Dales by Dr David Johnson.

On 27th April there will be a Ribblehead Heritage Tour, an Appleby Castle Tour and a linear walk taking in Clapham, Feizor and Giggleswick Scar.  On 28th April there will be a circular Nine Standards Rigg walk and on 29th April there will be a Conservation and Farming in Ribblesdale walk with conservationist David Tayler, farmer Anthony Bradley and RSPB expert Adrian Shepherd.

There will be live music sessions each evening from 4pm at various local pubs.  If you are planning to join in with the walks, please remember to wear suitable clothing and footwear, and take enough food and drink.
