What is it?
Richard Woods’ Duck Weave is a new development in the internationally renowned artist’s use of materials, patterns, logos and motifs.  Eastside Projects presents the first research stages of Woods’ Duck Weave construction technique as the inaugural display of Production Show 2016-18.

Widely known for his transformative, architectural scale graphic artworks and his inventive and playful sculpture, painting and woodblock printed furniture, Duck Weave develops an ancient building technology recently rediscovered by the artist.  In this large-scale exhibition Woods presents the initial research stage of his project to redeploy a local ‘Digbeth’ version of this construction technique.

Eastside Projects is an internationally renowned centre of excellence based in a free public gallery imagined and organised by artists, in partnership with Birmingham City University.  They commission, produce and present experimental art practices and demonstrate ways in which art may be useful as part of society.
