Some Scottish merriment for Burns Night in Hoxton

By Caroline King - January 17, 2016Posted in : Food & Drink

Burns Night - Queen of Hoxton - Winter WigWam

Burns Night at The Queen of Hoxton’s winter WigWam.

When: 25th January 2016, 7pm – 10pm

Where: The Queen of Hoxton, 1 Curtain Rd, London EC2A 3JX

£: Free entry.  Advance tickets for the Glenfiddich Whiskey Tasting cost £15

What is it?

If you’re suffering from a serious case of the post-Christmas blues, stuff ‘staying in’ and join Scotland’s finest folk in The Queen of Hoxton’s cosy winter WigWam for a night of Scottish Merriment fit for Rabbie Burns himself.

Warm your cockles with whisky tasting courtesy of the award-winning Glenfiddich distillery (ticket holders only), take in musical entertainment from Scottish fiddle player Tom Newell, enjoy a traditional ‘Address to a Haggis’, and of course a special menu of hearty Scottish fare.

The whisky tasting with Glenfiddich allows ticket holders to sample four of their famous whiskies and a whisky based cocktail each, and learn about the history and family story of the distillery.

The Scottish festivities will be taking place in The Queen of Hoxton’s Winter Rooftop WigWam in Shoreditch. Inspired by the Brothers Grimm’s fairy tales, look out for interpretations of well-known stories like Hansel and Gretel, The Lambkin and the Little Fish, and Rapunzel, as you get lost in its fantastical forest.

Toast marshmallows around fire-pits, explore the rooftop’s magical tree installation, and enjoy a menu of warming hot cocktails.  If this doesn’t kick your winter blues to the kerb, we don’t know what will!
