What is it?
On Saturday 19th September, the 12th annual Great Gorilla Run will take place in London. The event sees hundreds of fun runners, dressed as gorillas, attempt an 8K course through the City.
It costs £58 to register for the event. This includes the gorilla costume, which participants get to keep afterwards. Bill Oddie and Uri Geller will be there to cheer on the gorillas. As it is a fun run, participants may run, jog or walk the 8K. This year there will be trophies for the best-dressed gorilla, the biggest team, the highest fundraiser and the furthest travelled gorilla.
So far the event has raised over £2 million for gorilla conservation and poverty reduction projects in central Africa.
