What is it?
Guests will be transported to a world of scoundrels, with underground jazz and a quintessentially British-inspired summer menu. The Underground Supper Club will offer guests a truly immersive dining experience with a menu that features the best of British fare circa 1946, along with speciality pairing cocktails.
Chef Alex Cooper has conceived an extraordinary four-course menu that pays homage to post-war Britain. The refreshing starter will be a chilled wild garlic and green pea soup with a strawberry emulsion and pea shoots, paired with specialty cocktail Give Peas a Chance. To follow will be a vibrant cherry wood vodka and grapefruit cured salmon with sweet Dijon and fennel flowers, paired with the Gipsy’s Kiss.
Diners will be able to tuck into scrumptious BBQ lamb neck with white onion and garlic puree, smoked confit aubergine and rosemary croquettes, paired with the See You Later Baked Potato savoury cocktail. The final provision of the evening will be an apricot and thyme sorbet, lavender shortbread and lemon posset.
In addition, Cahoots will also serve their signature cocktails including the Vera Lynn, Judy Garland and the sharer cocktail, ‘The Tanqueray No. TEN Station Clock’, which is served in an actual clock with a working clock face. There will also be wine and Spitfire Premium Kentish Ale available.
The Basement Galley started out as a recreational weekend project in Brixton as an avenue for Alex Cooper and Tom Fothergill to live out their recipe ideas. It has now turned into an ambitious culinary undertaking; a hybrid of secret supper club, cutting edge pop-up and social interaction.
The Inception Group also own and operate 1980s themed nightclub, Maggie’s, the acclaimed Bunga Bunga, an Englishman’s Italian, Bar, Pizzeria and Karaoke venue in Battersea, and Mr Fogg’s a Mayfair based bar modelled on the actual home of Jules Verne’s most famous adventurer, Phileas Fogg.
