Where: Brixham, Devon
What is it?
Brixham Pirate Festival will take place over the May bank holiday, from Saturday 2nd to Monday 4th May in Devon.
The three-day festival will feature two live stages, street entertainment, and activities around the harbour. The live music will come from popular local bands, as well as those from far away shores.
The Pyrates from Holland and Tom Mason from Nashville USA will return for this year’s Brixham Pirate Festival. Captain Morgan’s Rum Do will be singing original songs about the golden age of piracy, and the Old Gaffers sea shanty crew will be singing traditional songs.
As well as the music, there will be dramatic skirmishes on the Golden Hind, involving the ever popular Jonty Depp as Jack Sparrow. There will also be demonstrations by the colourful re-enactors, the Society of King George 3rd, and fire Juggler, Dan Brazier.
For the children there will be fancy dress, and clown and magician performances. Entertainingly Different will also offer festival visitors two family friendly Pirate shows, jam-packed with swashbuckling songs, stories, slapstick and silliness.
On the Sunday afternoon visitors can join in with the Pirates at the Proms event, with renditions of Hearts of Oak and Rule Britannia. And not forgetting the opportunity to dance the Hornpipe!
