What is it?
No one has had more worldly adventures than Mr Fogg, having circumnavigated the world in 80 days, but never has he experienced a knees-up as jolly as Saint Patrick’s Day in Ireland.
On Tuesday 17th March 2015, Mr Fogg and his household staff shall partner with traditional Irish tipple Tullamore Dew Irish Whiskey, to bring the luck of the Irish to the City of London, and host a splendid Saint Patrick’s Day soirée, at his humble Mayfair abode.
Esteemed guests will be taken on a journey into the heart of a quintessential Saint Patrick’s Day bash, that will rival the streets of Dublin (without ever having to leave Mr Fogg’s cosy residence). Livelier than a leprechaun from Limerick, the evening’s entertainment will include live performances from the talented Irish duet, Band of Fire. Adding flame to this fire will be a fine selection of tummy-warming, especially made, Tullamore Dew Irish Whiskey cocktails.
Cocktails on offer will include ‘Craic in a Cobbler’ a heady mix of Tullamore Dew Original, lemon juice, sugar syrup, egg white, and macha tea, and ‘Reeling from the Dew Drops’ a fizzy fusion of Tullamore Dew Original, Midori liqueur, lime juice, lavender syrup, and kiwi puree, topped with champagne. There will also be ‘Tulla’s’more! At Least Guinness An Idea?’ a creative concoction of Tullamore Dew 12, peppermint tea, cinnamon syrup, lemon juice, and liquorice liqueur, topped with Guinness. Other Irish delicacies, and salt beef canapés will also be served throughout the course of the evening.
The residence of Mr Fogg’s will be full of Irish cheer and all household staff will be clad in green ribbons, top hats and shamrocks. Guests are advised to be adventurous and follow suit.
Mr Fogg’s is a recreation of the Victorian home of Jules Verne’s most famous adventurer, Phileas Fogg. Modelled on the very Mayfair house in which Phileas would have lived after travelling Around the World in 80 Days, the bar is refined but at the same time truly off-the-wall, breathing liveliness and fun into the area. It is the first West End project from Inception Group, whose founders Charlie Gilkes and Duncan Stirling have also created Chelsea speakeasy Barts, 80’s themed nightclub, Maggie’s, and recently launched Cahoots, a 1940s tube station themed, underground bar.
