Covent Garden gets spruced up for the Great Christmas Pudding Race

What is it?

The Cancer Research 34th Great Christmas Pudding Race will take place on Saturday 6th December 2014 in the West Piazza of Covent Garden.

The Great Christmas Pudding Race is a unique charity event held annually each December in the heart of London. Teams of six friends or colleagues take on the challenge each year in order to battle it out to win the acclaimed Christmas Pudding Trophy, along with some fantastic prizes.

Imagine you are standing in Covent Garden’s famous cobbled piazza on a cold crisp December morning.  Now add a huge obstacle course to that picture complete with a giant inflatable slide.  Add in a bunch of excited contestants kitted out in some fantastic fancy dress outfits.  Then picture the array of Santa Claus’, reindeer and superheroes, all attempting to negotiate the obstacle course whilst carefully balancing a Christmas pudding on a tray.  Not an easy task I can promise you!

This is an exceptional event where an enjoyable day is had by both the contestants and spectators all in aid of Cancer Research UK.  On the day there will be entertainment from 11.15am, with the first Great Christmas Pudding Race taking place at 12.10pm.
