Head for the wild outdoors hidden on a London rooftop

Where: Queen of Hoxton, 1 Curtain Road, London EC2A 3JX

What is it?

From the end of October, Queen of Hoxton’s rooftop sees the WigWamBam return for Woodlandia. Guests can nestle under the stars, surrounded by views of the East End with a warming alcoholic beverage in hand.

As you enter Woodlandia, step through a veil of green pine and discover a hidden solace inspired by Britain’s wintery woodlands and the wild outdoors.

Inside the candle-lit WigWamBam, cosy up on moss-covered tree stumps around an oversized barbecue grill, and listen to the faint sounds of the woodland.  Step outside to the bar, beneath overgrown twisted vines, and you’ll find a menu of specially created cocktails and drinks.  There’ll be Hot Buttered Rum (an all-time WigWamBam favourite), Grandma’s Whiskers (eggnog with a whiskey-inspired twist), and a whiskey and ginger liqueur hot toddy with winter spice infusion to enjoy.  In addition, the Cocktail Gardener will host a cocktail masterclass in January, teaching you how to use herbs and flowers to infuse, garnish and flavour cocktails.

As the night draws in, get toasty around open fire pits with marshmallow sticks or enjoy hearty meals from the barbecue, such as sloe gin pulled lamb shoulder and jacket spuds with wild mushroom and cheddar.

The Woodlandia WigWamBam will also host ‘Drink & Do’ workshop events including origami workshops starting on 11th November (National Origami Day), ‘Republic of Somerset’ traditional cider tasting with a specially curated BBQ menu hosted by The Cider Box on 15th November, and Super Collider’s popular astronomy pop-up class (date tbc).
