When: 29th October – 1st November 2014
Where: Standalone Farm, Letchworth Garden City, Hertfordshire
£: Tickets cost £15 (booking in advance is advised)
What is it?
The event combines live horror action with cake for the first time ever, creating an incredible terrifying edible experience, the likes of which have never been seen before. The family attraction, Standalone Farm, has been taken over by renowned creative and food art curator, Miss Cakehead, for the special event. Cakeageddon is targeted strictly at older teenagers and adults, and will feature some of the world’s most infamous cake makers.
Scattered around the farm will be a series of large-scale cake installations, which brave visitors will be able to tuck into if they dare. There will be plenty of nasty surprises in store as they go on their cake-walk through the night. Even the children’s play barn on the farm is touched by Miss Cakehead’s twisted mind, taken over by a nightmarish edible creation of Animal Farm.
There will be a perverse cake box of fairy tales including deformed Animal Farm characters, Three (Slaughtered) Little Pigs, Red Riding Hood and her basket of intestines, and the nemesis of Miss Muffet, a giant 7ft spider. All of course in 100% edible form.
A ticket to Cakeageddon admits you to the farm, and includes all of the public edible installations and cake. If your blood lust is not sated by this, you can buy more sanguine sweets in the Standalone Farm Shop.
Cakeageddon is part of Letchworth Garden City’s Fire and Fright Festival, from 25th October to 5th November 2014.
