The 64th British National Ploughing Championships take place in Hampshire on 11th and 12th October 2014. More than 200 top ploughmen from all over Britain are expected to compete in the annual championships.
The event kicks off on the Friday evening with the Blessing of the Plough at Wootton St Lawrence Church. Visitors to the Ploughing Championships will be able to see a variety of ploughs and ploughing, beginning with a parade of competitors on Saturday morning. On the Saturday there will be more conventional ploughing competitions, and on Sunday there will be vintage ploughing with classic machinery. On both days over the weekend there will be horse ploughing.
In addition to the championships there will be trade stands, displays of vintage tractors, ploughs and equipment, steam ploughing engines, and a craft marquee. There will also be demonstrations of the latest tractors, farm machinery and equipment under working conditions.
