What is it?
Wells next the Sea is a small fishing town on the Norfolk coast, and from 12th to 14th September it will be hosting the Wells Pirate Festival.
The festival kicks off on Friday 12th September with a Smugglers Ball. Tickets for the ball cost £15, and on arrival guests will receive a rum cocktail. There will be a whole host of pirate-themed activities taking place throughout the weekend on the Quay and the Buttlands, at the Maltings and the Tourist Information Centre.
On the Saturday there will be a children’s activity tent, a balloon race, pirate market, treasure trail, storytelling and a pirate parade. Live music will come courtesy of The Bucanneers and The Doohickie Pirates amongst others.
On the Sunday there will be a best dressed pirate competition, a rum cocktail bar, storytelling, a children’s activity tent, a pirate jumble sale and more live music.
The Well Pirate Festival aims to raise money for the Wells Maltings Trust. Money raised will go towards the Maltings arts and community building.
