Where: Nepcote Green, Findon Village, West Sussex
What is it?
Findon Sheep Fair and Village Festival takes place on 13th September 2014 with sheep displays, crafts, a traditional fun fair and a barn dance.
There will be over 270 sheep at the fair, representing 21 different breeds. This year’s Findon Sheep Fair will have a focus on sheep wool.
The main arena will have sheep shearing and a history of sheep, a sheepdog demonstration, and a sheep parade. There will also be heavy horses, falconry and a tug of war in the arena.
The fair will feature a marquee where there will be a fleece competition, information on processing wool, spinners demonstrating the use of wool and finished products available to view.
Further entertainment at Findon Sheep Fair will include the Harris Brothers Traditional Fair, craft stalls, food and produce stalls, small animals and a bar. There will be a children’s entertainment area with Punch and Judy.
For those wishing to make a full weekend of it, there is a Family Barn Dance on the Friday night before the fair and a Party on the Green in the evening after the fair.
