What is it?
Porthcawl Elvis Festival is an annual event which sees thousands of Elvis fans descend on the Welsh seaside town for a unique celebration of The King. The festival has been going since 2004 and is said to be the biggest Elvis festival in Europe, with 20 local venues taking part and over 100 shows to enjoy.
During the festival, shows take place in the Grand Pavilion including The Elvies, the world’s leading award show for Elvis tribute artists. There are 100 ETAs (or Elvis tribute artists) expected over the festival weekend. The festival kicks off on 26th September at 12.30pm with a champagne reception at ‘The Heartbreak Hotel’, where guests can meet the artists taking part in the festival.
There is also a Fringe Festival during the weekend and most of these events are free.
Powthcawl is a popular seaside town in South Wales with a promenade, pavilion, funfair and sandy beaches. The town also hosts a jazz festival and a surf festival throughout the year.
