Where: Fell Foot Park, Cumbria

£: There is a small charge to enter the championships and for car parking.

What is it?

On Saturday 16th August, Fell Foot Park in Cumbria will host the All England Stone Skimming Championships 2014.

For those who have never tried it, stone skimming is a skill which involves throwing a flat shaped stone across a lake or other body of water.  The aim is to throw the stone so that it bounces off the surface of the water.  The more bounces the stone makes, the better.

As well as the Stone Skimming Championships there will be a beer tent, barbecue, ice cream and children’s activities to enjoy.

The event is run by the National Trust in conjunction with South Cumbria Rivers Trust.
