Take part in a Summer Cider Cycle in Wales

By Caroline King - July 31, 2014Posted in : Alternative Sport, Food & Drink

When: 8th – 10th August 2014

Where: Llanwrtyd Wells, Mid Wales

£: To take part in all three days costs £50 and to take part in one day costs £20 (online entries close on Saturday 2nd August)

What is it?

Fancy taking part in some mountain biking with a difference?  The Summer Cider Cycle & Red Kite Bash takes place over three days with guided rides around the Llanwrtyd Wells area.

The annual Red Kite Bash has taken place in Llanwrtyd since the 1980s and has this year been combined with the Summer Cider Cycle.  On the Friday and Sunday there will be guided rides, then on the Saturday the Cider Cycle will take place.

The Cider Cycle is a fun bike ride through the surrounding hills, forests and valleys in mid Wales.  Cyclists will have a choice of 14 or 25 miles with checkpoints providing Strongbow keg cider, traditional farmhouse ciders and perries for refreshment.  The ride begins at Bromsgrove Hall at 11am.  There will be live music in the evening, and the town’s pubs will have a range of ciders on offer so participants can continue their enjoyment.

Camping and other accommodation is available in and around the town for those who wish to take part in all three days.
