What is it?

The Park Plaza Hotel in Cardiff have introduced a new Gentlemen’s Afternoon Tea, giving a new twist to the traditional afternoon tea.

Taking inspiration from the classic Gentlemen’s clubs of the nineteenth century, Park Plaza Cardiff has introduced a rather delicious and altogether debonair take on the traditional afternoon tea.  The new Gentlemen’s Afternoon Tea, offers an alternative to the dainty finger sandwiches and cakes.  Instead diners can enjoy mini venison burgers, chorizo scotch eggs and sirloin stuffed Yorkshire puddings.  Of course, the Gentlemen’s Afternoon Tea is not just for men!

Afternoon Tea - Park Plaza - Cardiff More culinary stars of the new menu include seared Welsh sirloin steak with caramelised red onions, garlic mushrooms on toasted ciabatta, and miniature prawn cocktail shots.  For those with a sweet tooth, how does warm chocolate fondant with clotted cream, and rum baba filled with Chantilly cream and raspberries sound?

All of this can be washed down with the traditional choice of tea or coffee, but the discerning gent (or lady) may also wish to indulge in a Penderyn Whisky cocktail, or perhaps a classic Martini.

The Gentleman’s Afternoon Tea will be supporting Velindre Cancer Centre, with a percentage of each afternoon tea being donated to Wales’ leading cancer centre.

The award-winning Laguna Kitchen & Bar, offers a relaxed yet sophisticated setting for the man and woman about town.  This new take on the traditional afternoon tea also offers the perfect opportunity for daughters, wives and girlfriends to treat the special man in their lives this Father’s Day.
