What is it?

World record holding beatboxer Shlomo is back by popular demand at this year’s Spark Festival.  The Spark Festival is a children’s arts festival taking place in Leicester.  As part of the festival Shlomo’s Human Geekbox Tour takes place at The Y on Thursday 29th May with a special workshop and performance for kids.

Shlomo’s incredibly energetic live-show promises to be jaw dropping, inspirational and totally absorbing.  Since taking up beatboxing in 2002, Shlomo has won global acclaim and worked with some of the biggest names in the music industry including Damon Albarn, Jarvis Cocker, The Specials and DJ Yoda.  In the process he has consistently pushed the boundaries of beatboxing, bringing the art form to new and unexpected audiences.

Shlomo’s fascinating live performance technique, which utilises a loop pedal to sample his voice on the fly, enables him to create and rework a huge range of original songs and well-loved classics.

The sonic superhero will be holding a pre-show workshop, teaching the tricks of the beatbox trade. Why not join in by beatboxing along in this adventure show for anyone aged 1-101?
