Swap your lycra for flat caps and culottes at the Vintage Velo

By Caroline King - May 8, 2014Posted in : Alternative Sport, Festival, Food & Drink

Vintage Velo 2014 - Bristol - Cycling Festival When: 18th May 2014

Where: Bristol

£: Tickets cost £10 (plus booking fee) from vintagevelo.eventbrite.co.uk

What is it?

Don your best vintage gear and head to the Vintage Velo, Bristol’s very own vintage-themed bike ride.

This is the fourth consecutive year that the popular ride has taken place. It involves a genteel ride along a lovely scenic route towards a mystery destination.  Expect some fun and games along the way, then a sophisticated knees-up at the final destination, with top-notch entertainment, reasonably priced food and a well-stocked bar.

You don’t strictly need a vintage bike to take part and the exact dress code is up to you, although participant’s efforts will be appreciated and rewarded.  The Vintage Velo promises good times, dapper chaps and chapesses and wonderful prizes to win.

All the proceeds from the event will go towards making the fifth edition of Bristol Cycle Festival happen in July.  A meeting point and route details will be confirmed after you purchase your ticket.  The cycling part of the day will be an easy ride with a 45 – 60 minutes duration, and there will be the option to get the train home if you’ve overindulged.
