What is it?
Museums at Night will see museums, galleries and heritage sites across the UK holding after hours events from 15th to 17th May. As part of Museums At Night, MOSI in Manchester will be holding a scientific music event. The #HookedOnMusic Silent Disco will take place on Thursday 15th May when visitors can explore parts of the Museum by dusk and experience it as never before. So why not go along and enjoy a drink surrounded by objects from Manchester’s scientific and industrial past and present?
While you are enjoying the great and varied collections that surround you, test your musical knowledge in the special #HookedOnMusic interactive quiz. The aim of the game is to have fun in the name of research and help unlock the secret science of songs. #HookedOnMusic is a Citizen Science Project, and the largest ever experiment into musical memory. The project could help scientists predict the catchiest musical fragments and devise ways to trigger memories and provide therapeutic benefits.
Afterwards, grab a pair of headsets for the #HookedOnMusic Silent Disco. Use the atmospheric surroundings of the Museum’s Revolution Manchester gallery space and dance the night away on your very own personal dance floor.
