What is it?
During the After Hours: Food event there will be the chance to make your own crazy-flavoured caviar in the Live Lab, enjoy a mouth-watering taste of some ‘future’ foods and investigate drinks that fizz and fluoresce, or desserts that glow and pop.
If you’re hungry for more, you can meet industry experts, including real-life Willy Wonkas. Local flavour developers TasteTech will help you deconstruct a classic strawberry flavour, revealing some surprising notes along the way. Head into the Jungle, where experts from Bristol Conclave and Mangrove Spirits have teamed up to examine the history, production and variety of tequila; including tastings of course! Please note that the Tequila Tutorial costs an extra £2 per person. The session will run from 8.45pm – 9.30pm and has limited capacity so visitors will need to book on arrival.
If all that has built up an appetite, there will also be a ‘Sensory Seaside Supper’ to enjoy. At-Bristol’s chefs have created a special menu that will stimulate all your senses, transporting you to the coast for a traditional fish and chip supper with a twist! Look forward to two locally sourced courses, plus drinks, snacks, and a few surprises along the way. The Sensory Seaside Supper will cost £7.50 a head and a vegetarian option of tempura veg will be available.
Whilst your dinner’s going down, take the opportunity to go on a journey to the stars in the Planetarium, then get back on the venue floor and play with the hundreds of hands-on interactive exhibits; all with a drink in hand. Planetarium shows cost £1.50 per person and are on a first-come-first-served basis.
