What is it?
Looking for something a bit different to try this Easter? London’s 24 hour Polo Bar on Bishopsgate may just have the answer. Diners can take the Polo Bar’s Emu Scotch Egg Challenge on Saturday 19th April. The challenge is to eat a whole Emu Scotch Egg (that’s equivalent to 15 normal hen eggs) in just one minute! To take part in the challenge, make sure you book in advance. Successful challengers will win not only all round kudos but a bottle of Prosecco (which may help wash the egg down).
Polo Bar, London’s 24 hour dining hot spot, has a whole array of unusual eggs on the menu this month, including emu, ostrich, goose and duck eggs. Their emu scotch egg is served with Branston pickle, baby leaf salad and sweet potato wedges, all for £9. So even if you’re not brave enough to scoff one in a minute, you won’t miss out.
Also on the menu is the ostrich egg omelette, with a choice of fillings, served with chips and salad for £9.50, and the ostrich egg omelette roulade filled with smoked salmon and cream cheese, served with fresh tomato salsa and baby leaf mixed salad for £9. They’ll also be cracking a few goose and duck eggs in their breakfasts too.
