What is it?
The Smuggler’s Den Inn, a traditional coaching inn, will be hosting its 15th annual Pie & Ale Festival from Friday 2nd May to Monday 5th May. The weekend long festivities promise to be a veritable feast of homemade Cornish fodder combined with over 70 fine ales for enthusiasts, connoisseurs and newbies to taste and try.
There will be live music during the festival from the likes of Irish influenced folk rockers Emerald, Celtic punkers Black Friday (famed for playing a record-breaking thirty gigs in twelve hours), and Jessica McEvoy. Devoted beer and pie partisans will be able to sample the wares of Launceston’s Grumpies along with iconic beers from Falmouth’s Black Rock Brewing.
The Smuggler’s Den Inn is an idyllic thatched 16th century pub nestled in the heart of the north Cornish countryside. Now in its 15th year, the Pie & Ale Festival has a cult-like following. Supporters of the festival often choose to camp over during the weekend to make the most of the tranquil countryside and beach, only moments away.
