When: 12th – 27th April 2014

Where: Brodsworth Hall, Brodsworth, Doncaster, South Yorkshire DN5 7XJ

£: Adults £9.70, concessions £8.70, children £5.80 and English Heritage members go free.  The ticket price includes entry to the event as well as the Hall and Gardens.

What is it?

Being the butler of a Victorian country house is no easy job. This April visitors to Brodsworth Hall can learn just what it takes when they enrol in Butler School.

Visitors will have the opportunity to learn all about the etiquette of a country house, from dressing a table to folding a napkin.

Brodsworth Hall is one of the more unusual attractions in South Yorkshire.  The house has been pretty much left as it was when it was still a family home.  English Heritage has conserved the interiors ‘as found’, rather than restoring the rooms.  So visitors shouldn’t be surprised to find a mix of faded wallpaper, bits of family clutter and grand but battered furniture inside the property.
