Where: Belsay Hall, Castle and Gardens, Belsay, Nr Morpeth, Northumberland NE20 0DX

£: Adults £10, children and concessions £8 (booking in advance is essential)

What is it?

Discover Belsay Castle and Gardens in a different light by taking a tour of the stunning Grade I listed gardens and enchanting medieval castle by torchlight.  Enjoy a hot drink on arrival and learn about the fascinating family that lived here.

Belsay Hall, Castle and Gardens are the creation of the Middleton family, over more than seven centuries.  The castle was built as a refuge at a time of Anglo-Scottish warfare and today it is still dominated by its massive 14th century defensive ‘pele tower’.  The Grade I listed heritage garden has been lovingly restored and now has an impressive array of shrubs and flowers which change with the seasons.  The unique Quarry Garden is a highlight of the property with a fantasy of ravines, pinnacles and exotic plants.

The ticket price includes a hot drink on arrival and a tour through the quarry garden and castle.  You are advised to take your own torch and wrap up warm for this event.  This event is not suitable for children under 10 years.
