‘Time Travellers Go… Gruesome’ at Whitby Abbey

When: 15th – 23rd February 2014, 11am – 4pm

Where: Whitby Abbey, Abbey Lane, Whitby, North Yorkshire YO22 4JT

£: Adults £6.40, concessions £5.80, children (5-15 yrs) £3.80, family ticket £16.60 and English Heritage members go free.

What is it?

This half term explore the gruesome side of history with hands on activities and plenty of time travelling fun for children at Whitby Abbey in North Yorkshire.

Meet the Hangman, Thomas Turlis, and discover painful punishments from the past including gallows, ropes, and the other ‘tools’ of his gruesome trade.

There will be plenty to keep children entertained including a Crime and Punishment Trail.  Tickets for this event will be available on the day.
