What is it?
Brand new venue Honky Tonk Clapham will host a Super Bowl Sunday Showdown on 2nd February. Honky Tonk will be opening its doors for an extended time with a late license in order to show the game through the night. Honky Tonk will also be offering a selection of American-style treats including sloppy joes, popcorn, super bowl ice-cream sundaes and even a Super Bowl Slammer, which is a shot of beer and tequila.
At Honky Tonk there is regular live music and entertainment, with a particular emphasis on a variation of the blues, jazz and rockabilly played over a hundred years ago when the first honky tonks sprung up in the United States. The bar has a late licence until 2am at weekends.
Honky Tonk offers a range of aged-in-the-barrel cocktails, a diverse selection of bourbons and innovative drinks such as the Pickleback shot made with Buffalo Trace Bourbon and pickle brine, the aged-in-barrel Sazerac and the unique and delicious Maple Trace.
Diners can enjoy all-American dishes with touches of Italian and deli-inspired food with many small plates served alongside larger ones. There is private dining, available for up to 30 guests, which can be accessed through a ‘secret’ wardrobe door. There is even a private table located behind the stage where guests are able to spin an over-sized Wheel of Fortune to win prizes every evening.
Honky Tonk is the brainchild of Mark Cutler, one of the founders of Notting Hill institution, supperclub London.
