Bored? Use your Enginuity and build a rocket this half term

By Caroline King - January 29, 2014Posted in : Museum, Science and Technology

Enginuity - Flight Workshop - half term event - Ironbridge

Build a rocket at the Enginuity Flight Workshop

When: 15th – 23rd February 2014 (half term event), open 10am – 5pm

Where: Enginuity, near Ironbridge, Shropshire

£: Admission costs £8.50 for adults, £7 for the 60 plus and £7 for children. Enginuity is one of the ten Ironbridge Gorge Museums.  An Annual Passport Ticket allowing unlimited entry into all ten museums costs £24 for adults, £19 for the 60 plus, £15.25 for students and children, and £65 for a family of two adults and all their children; under 5s go free.  Activities and workshops vary day-to-day and some carry an extra charge in addition to the museum admission fee.

What is it?

Design and build a pneumatic rocket from craft materials and discover the fun of flying during the February half-term week at Enginuity, near Ironbridge in Shropshire.

Families can join drop-in workshops between 10.30am and 3.45pm.  Paper, card and plastic nose cones will be used to create model rockets of around 30cm in length.  The rockets can then be ‘fired’ through a selection of suspended targets from Enginuity’s pneumatic launcher.

Families will also be able to join in a range of other fun activities and see a display of flight-related exhibits.  Activities will vary from day-to-day and some additional costs will apply.
