What is it?
The parade follows on from the success of the last year’s event. For this year’s End of Season Parade the Romney Hythe & Dymchurch Light Railway Company have planned a varied and interesting day. By using a mix of locomotives including Hercules, a recently repaired Black Prince, Winston Churchill and one of their trusty diesels there will be a full timetable of train trips available to enjoy.
The day starts early to make use of the daylight hours and for those who fancy making a day of it there will be a special Breakfast Shuttle to Dungeness. Seats on this train, hauled by The Bug, can be reserved for £20 per person. The price includes a “Mighty Breakfast at Dungeness” and an All Day Rover ticket. First class heritage coaches will be utilised, with a free glass of fizz for all participants.
Services will run throughout the day beginning at 9.30am until 3.55pm with a variety of trains running along the line and calling at stations including New Romney, Hythe and Dungeness. The station cafes will be open all day to serve refreshments to passengers.
