What is it?
The Banzai Charge is for all the runners out there who like a bit of a Kamikaze challenge to their runs. The course features around 8 miles of crazy cross-country challenges including bogs, hills and rivers as well as some more unusual obstacles.
Each runner wears their number on a specially issued headband and all those who complete the course receive a Kamikaze medal. On each lap of the course the crazy runners can expect to find obstacles such as the snakes wedding, an entanglement of rope to get through, and the infamous Kamikaze slide, which is 10 metres of plastic and washing up liquid to make going down hill more of a challenge. The final straight will be no easier with the Japanese tunnels, barbed wire crawl, electric box and grease wall to negotiate.
For the less brave out there, the Kamikaze Adventure Run makes a great spectator sport. Watch the runners as they throw themselves down the Kamikaze slide or battle with the snakes wedding. The event organisers will be providing some catering and plenty of covered marquee areas, so you won’t get too wet or hungry as you cheer on the runners.
