What is it?
The Kent Life rural heritage attraction, near Maidstone in Kent, has its popular annual Hops ‘n’ Harvest Beer Festival on 7th and 8th September.
The festival honours old traditions by giving visitors the chance to have a go at picking the hops by hand. Visitors can also see the last working coal-fired oast house in Britain, in full production for that weekend only. The event offers a unique chance to take in the sights and sounds of bygone years and meet lots of characters from Kent’s past.
In the beer tent there will be a large variety of rare and more commonly seen real ales and ciders, as well as a selection of lager, wine, spirits and Pimms. Try the sought after Cobtree Old Ale, brewed using Kent Life’s own hops, and pull up a hay bale and join the ‘festini’ atmosphere with a variety of live music all day long.
Other entertainment over the weekend includes piglet racing, water zorbing, a bouncy castle and pearly performances.
