What is it?
To celebrate Master Phileas Fogg’s return from his latest global expedition, he shall be requesting the company of not just his nearest and dearest, but also friends of friends and new acquaintances alike, for the unveiling and showcasing of his latest discovery, The Top Shelf Band.
First happened upon in one of Whitechapel’s less salubrious music halls by Master Phileas Fogg himself, his household staff will proudly present a most unusual musical quintet who known for their saucy ditties and somewhat raucous entertainments; normally most popular amongst the working members of society, lets hope that the sometimes all too stuffy Mayfair is not left too aghast by their refreshingly exuberant repertoire…
The Top Shelf Band are adored by a select and rapidly growing number of intrepid music lovers. They have already supported Paloma Faith, Kid Creole and Lana Del Ray.
Master Fogg will be bringing a few of his other more ‘exotic’ friends along with him for the soiree, so keep your eyes peeled for the possibility of, a mysterious woman with a snake, an American Civil War hero, and, last but not least, Mayfair’s resident Red Indian couple.
Mr Fogg’s is a recreation of the Victorian home of Jules Verne’s most famous adventurer, Phileas Fogg. Modelled on the very Mayfair house in which Phileas would have lived after travelling Around the World in 80 Days, the bar is refined but truly off-the-wall, breathing liveliness and fun into the area. The founders Charlie Gilkes and Duncan Stirling have also created Chelsea speakeasy, Barts, 80’s themed nightclub, Maggie’s, and most recently Disco, an underground boite in Soho based on the disco movement that took place in 1970 Manhattan.
