What is it?
Redruth is part of the Cornwall and West Devon Mining Landscape, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. The Cornish Pasty Festival is an annual celebration of the area’s important heritage via pasties, mining and music.
The festival kicks off with Miner’s Day on 6th September, with an exhibition at the Cornish Studies Library, arts and crafts at the former Art and Graphics shop, and street theatre in Fore Street.
The 7th September is Pasty Day and the town centre will be filled with Cornish food and drink stalls (so expect every type of pasty imaginable). There will even be a chance to make your own pasty. For just 25p you can take part in the Oggy Treasure Trail with prizes for the winners. There will also be live music, cookery demonstrations, street entertainment and a fun fair.
Sunday 8th September is Redruth Fun Day with more live music, performances, stalls, a beer tent and go karts to enjoy.
